During the Belgian revolution of 1830 and the period of mutiny afterwards (1830-1839) the family BOCH had already acquired a long tradition in the field of faience and a lot of strategic experience in anticipating politic and economic developments.

Around 1874, due to the passionate interest of collectors of old faience pieces, Victor BOCH hires Dutchman from Maastricht, some already experienced after years of work in Delft. These Dutch faience painters brought their knowledge, experience and skills.

Thanks to their collaboration the old working methods were applied on different clay than the potters in Delft.

A period of reproduction of decors is followed by a period of innovation, among others with the polychrome decors on white background, or bleu, green or black, and afterwards new decors.

Luxury faience is decorated with Delft decors, and becomes a speciality of the “Manufacture” in a division named “la Chambre des peintres hollandais” (the Holland painter’s chamber).

These pieced each with a hand painted signature of the interlaced letters “B, F, K“ (Boch frères Keramis) on the bottom of the pieces.

These artistic products in Delft style are hand painted, instead of being decorated with a usual printed decor.

Tudor Rose

One the most distinctive and unmistakable flowers in England is the Tudor Rose. This specific type of rose is both red and pink around the outside and white. It has been in use as the country’s plant emblem since the Tudor Era.

The Tudor Rose sometimes called the Union Rose the traditional floral heraldic emblem of England. It takes its name and origins from the Tudor of the Tudor Family.

This is Vintage Royal Stafford Tudor Rose Tea Cup and Saucer Set. The delightful set 2 of cups and saucers with the milk Creamer and the sugar bowl and discovered it was in very good condition when I got it home.

A fine and subtle spirit dwells

In every little flower,

Each one its own sweet feeling breathes

With more or less of power.

There is a silent eloquence

In every wild bluebell

That fills my softened heart with bliss

That words could never tell.

Yet I recall not long ago

A bright and sunny day,

‘Twas when I led a toilsome life

So many leagues away;

That day along a sunny road

All carelessly I strayed,

Between two banks where smiling flowers

Their varied hues displayed.

Before me rose a lofty hill,

Behind me lay the sea,

My heart was not so heavy then

As it was wont to be.

Less harassed than at other times

I saw the scene was fair,

And spoke and laughed to those around,

As if I knew no care.

But when I looked upon the bank

My wandering glances fell

Upon a little trembling flower,

A single sweet bluebell.

Whence came that rising in my throat,

That dimness in my eye?

Why did those burning drops distil –

Those bitter feelings rise?

O, that lone flower recalled to me

My happy childhood’s hours

When bluebells seemed like fairy gifts

A prize among the flowers,

Those sunny days of merriment

When heart and soul were free,

And when I dwelt with kindred hearts

That loved and cared for me.

I had not then mid heartless crowds

To spend a thankless life

In seeking after others’ weal

With anxious toil and strife.

‘Sad wanderer, weep those blissful times

The lovely floweret seemed to say,

And thus it made me mourn.

Yellow Daffodil


To imagine nature

When Spring finally awakens

In the yellow daffodil flower. 

It is the anticipation 

Of Summer’s hour

Which blossoms

Within me.

Moon flower

At night in the garden
When everything comes alive
There is sweet song
It surrounds my heart.

Beyond the quiet end of day,
Whispering to the trees to pray,
Laughing with the moon flower,
Falling in love with the sunset,
Consulting with the moon,
Gazing up at the starry sky.

With my hand over my heart,
The hand other touching the earth,
Discovering the generosity
Here born of this Universe.

Its beauty caresses my soul
Then a gentle touch goodnight,
Like a beautiful dream beginning,
Moon colors blooming in mystery,
Only at night of an unreal light,
Translucent and pale.

And to my delight,
This moonflower tale
Bids me fair passage
To where we may dwell
We all once sail
On the moonflower pale.

Moon flowers (Botanical name: Ipomoea) are called moon flowers because they bloom in moonlight. Christopher shared these beauties with me whilst in his garden. They very large blooms and are a beautiful white flowers with a star-like shape. The flowers quickly open at night and last the entire night. They close when the sunlight touches their petals.

Strength in Knowledge 


It is rare if you find someone who can completely turn your world around, but to find someone who loves the same things as you like traveling, exploring, music, culture and the arts and adventure; I think is even more rare. 
We will tell each other things that we’ve never shared with another soul and together we will absorb everything. We will talk and actually you always want to hear more. 

We will share hopes for the future, dreams that will never come true, goals that were never achieved and listen to all life’s experiences that have been thrown us. 

When something wonderful happens, you can’t wait to tell me about it; knowing I will share in your excitement. 

You are not embarrassed to cry with you when you are hurting or laugh when you make a fool of yourself. 

Never will I hurt your feelings or make you feel like you are not good enough, but rather we will build each other up and I will show you the things about yourself that make you so special and beautiful. 

There is never any pressure, jealousy or competition but only a quiet calmness when they are around. You can be yourself and not worry about what I will think of you because I love you for who you are. 

I think of you on every occasion and in everything I do. Simple things bring  you to my mind like a pale blue sky, gentle wind or even looking back at you in the backseat sleeping on a long drive; you never complain. 

I opened my heart taking that there’s a chance for us and in our opening, we experienced a love and joy that neither of us ever dreamed possible. 

I find that being vulnerable is the only way to allow my heart to feel true pleasure that is so real.  

I find strength in knowing I have a true friend and possibly a soul mate who will remain loyal to the end.
