Peony

Peonies are outrageous

Beautiful in bloom,

Such lush foliage,

They last all summer long.

A perennial no doubt

They live longer than we do;

So they have been known to thrive,

Living more than 100 years.

A peony requires little maintenance

With roots that are planted firmly,

Given a chance to grow,

They will establish their ground.

And to their life; it is to be worthwhile;

It is to the peonies only purpose;

Is that to be beautiful you know;

They take my breath away.

What is a Peony’s rule for success…

It’s is simply this; Given to full sun,

A well-drained soil; of course; water,

And a little bit of love.

What is it?

Shelly My Love

Lyrics

Shelly my love

I only long to be where you are

Shelly my love

Now and forevermore

Shelly my love

When I see you I catch fire

And soon I’m all aflame

I feel it start

Whenever you call my name

All around I feel a passion

That thrills my very soul

I put it down

To that I love you so

Shelly my love

I only long to be where you are

Shelly my love

Now and forevermore

Shelly my love

Oh Shelly my love

All around I feel a passion

That thrills my very soul

I put it down

To that I love you so

Oh Shelly my love

Hathaway Rose

A rose with beautiful full double blooms,

With very attractive and frilly petals.

The blooms are good size;

clear, light and pink

In colour.

A high level of real rose

perfume.

She lives to produce

An open centred shrub,

Of medium size, fine and stem,

A carrying light

And green leaves.

She is elegant and refined

No less; love of variety.

Repeating, budding and flowering.

Made in Belgium

During the Belgian revolution of 1830 and the period of mutiny afterwards (1830-1839) the family BOCH had already acquired a long tradition in the field of faience and a lot of strategic experience in anticipating politic and economic developments.

Around 1874, due to the passionate interest of collectors of old faience pieces, Victor BOCH hires Dutchman from Maastricht, some already experienced after years of work in Delft. These Dutch faience painters brought their knowledge, experience and skills.

Thanks to their collaboration the old working methods were applied on different clay than the potters in Delft.

A period of reproduction of decors is followed by a period of innovation, among others with the polychrome decors on white background, or bleu, green or black, and afterwards new decors.

Luxury faience is decorated with Delft decors, and becomes a speciality of the “Manufacture” in a division named “la Chambre des peintres hollandais” (the Holland painter’s chamber).

These pieced each with a hand painted signature of the interlaced letters “B, F, K“ (Boch frères Keramis) on the bottom of the pieces.

These artistic products in Delft style are hand painted, instead of being decorated with a usual printed decor.

Fragile

How beautifully fragile

We all are

And how something

So tragic can happen

That it alters us

In a single moment

Changing us

Who we are

Forever.
